CHALLENGE: Ripley Federal had outgrown its previous facility and wanted to develop a facility that could contain its main banking facility, operations center and headquarters. The bank also wanted to secure its position in the markets it was serving, while responding to the traditional nature of the community.

SOLUTION: K4 assisted the bank in determining a program to accommodate the many elements the bank required in their new facility. K4 prepared 3D renderings to help bank management present the traditional design to its board of directors and win community support. The bank independently purchased a site; subsequent soil borings then revealed that it sat atop a historic river basin, requiring K4 to build the foundation on piers to ensure stability. A two story facility was designed and built to allow retail banking on the first floor and headquarter functions on the second. Also, a full basement would allow for redundancy with its computer systems, as well as serve the many meeting needs that exist in the community.
