CHALLENGE: The Credit Union wanted to expand its market share and develop a new branch that would further develop its brand and capture new customers in a growing suburban area. The site they had selected worked well for their needs, but had no access on the main street, and was "L" shaped, which restricted the possible layout solutions for a branch of this size.

SOLUTION: K4 proactively negotiated with the city to obtain the frontage, building position, and curb cut the client desired. We also worked closely with the institution’s board of directors during the Design stage to select a transitional-to-modern exterior design with an all-glass front. The retail-sensitive front face showcases the institution’s signage and logo (both within the glass to facilitate zoning approval), as well as acts as a display window for the retail-oriented services inside. K4 used 3D computer-generated renderings and elevations to prove the concept to the client. K4's "kit-of-parts" approach to the project allowed us to prepare a prototypical design that could accommodate the irregular lot, allow the drive through to function as a connected element and communicate the strong interiors brand to the credit union's customers. Our design/build methodology reduced the overall schedule, and proved to be a very successful project for the client.
