CHALLENGE: Two parishes (St. Boniface and St. James) had been collocated in a large, century-old, Gothic-style building in a community with a shrinking population. The Parish wanted to reverse the damage a previous renovation had done in 1980, as well as redesign the facility in a way the community would be proud, but all on an extremely limited budget.
SOLUTION: K4 provided a feasibility study to the parish indicating design and associated costs of the 'wish list' the parish desired. From that list, K4 worked with the building committee, and the Diocesan office to determine a scope of work that would deliver the greatest impact on the small budget allotted. Initial development work included using selected images from each original parish; creating a new, expanded narthex, confessional, and cry room; restoring the sanctuary’s traditional design; adding new lighting, pews, and ecclesiastical furnishings; restoring the Stations of the Cross, as well as previously stored statues; and adding new finishes throughout. K4 assisted the parish and their large group of volunteers to accomplish the project all the way through construction.
