CHALLENGE: The Drees company has a commercial construction arm, Nexus, that is charged with building their commercial and apartment assets. Drees corporate provides architectural services internally, but when the market shifted, all design resources focused on single family homes. Nexus was charged with developing and building a 386 unit upscale apartment complex with full community center amenities, and searched for a design partner to assist them.

SOLUTION: Nexus hired K4 to provide architectural services for the development. K4 developed a schedule over a period of years and phases to deliver the total development design to the client. Each multi-story building will have 8—24 units in a variety of configurations and use wood framing with brick veneer and vinyl siding construction. Along with the apartment buildings, K4 designed multiple garage and service buidings, entry features, and a large community building complete with gathering rooms, pool and support, offices, meeting spaces, and a small theater.
