CHALLENGE: Starbucks desired to build a new facility on a site which had minimal frontage, roadway access was limited, and an existing building was on the site.
SOLUTION: K4 provided test fit design studies adapted from Starbucks prototypical design guildelines and development standards. Firm worked with owner to estimate a construction price based on specific site conditions and Starbucks work letter. K4 coordinated with Client and Starbucks and the Ohio Department of Transportation to design a site plan that allowed for optimum drive-thru traffic flow while conforming to the site's limited access constraints. Existing detention structures and utilities were analyzed and utilized for the new project. Utilizing existing site infrastructure allowed more room and flexibility for the new Starbucks structure, parking and traffic flow. Building and site design was coordinated with Construction in a fast-track Design/Build process.
