CHALLENGE: Client desired to bring Sonic Restaurants to a new market in the Cincinnati area. Being from outside the market and not familiar with the area, they sought a team to assist them in rolling out multiple locations quickly to meet the franchise agreement requirements.

SOLUTION: K4 provided site identification expertise, due diligence analysis, and site test-fit design studies for the Client to help them select and qualify the best sites available. To conform with strict zoning guidelines and limited site area in various locations, the prototype design was modified. Additionally, K4 worked with Client to redesign the kitchen and the prototype exterior to create a new upgraded design standard for future Sonic restaurant roll-outs in the area. Brick and cultured stone materials were added to the exterior to improve the building aesthetic and to comply with zoning requirements. Site detention was buried in order to maximize site area for vehicular traffic. Small design improvements were made throughout the project to improve the safety, efficiency and function of the restaurant. K4's ability to deliver a design/build solution was critical to the success of the necessary fast-track process.
