CHALLENGE: This repeat client chose a location in the Newport on the Levy development which sits on top of a multi-story parking structure within an existing mercantile building on a new urban public plaza. The collaboration between the developer, engineers and contractors for this project was critical due to the difficult site constraints of plumbing, mechanical and construction activity issues.
SOLUTION: Using the existing building shell, electrical distribution system, plumbing chases and structural grid, K4 designed the prototype restaurant into the space. The existing roof top equipment was re-used, adding only a new make-up air system and hood exhaust to the structure. This was a very difficult location to work with, and a successful project resulted through a collaborative team effort.
